UK WEATHER & AIR QUALITY FORECASTING TEACHING PORTAL

About ManUniCast

Welcome to ManUniCast (Manchester University Forecast), a real-time weather forecasting model for the United Kingdom. ManUniCast is a collaboration between the University of Manchester Centre for Atmospheric Science and the Faculty of Science and Engineering eLearning Team. The project was funded by a grant from The Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences Learning and Teaching Development Fund with additional support from the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Research Infrastructure Team from IT Services, underpinned by the University Computationally Intensive Research Ecosystem. ManUniCast uses the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, a state-of-the-art numerical weather prediction system designed for community use.

ManUniCast is run as an educational tool for students and the general public to learn about weather and air-quality forecasting.  Data is not designed to be used for operational or commercial purposes.
